Basketball

I just played basketball. Not very well, but I still played. I made a handful of buckets. Maybe 8 points? 10? I'm not sure. But life is still good. And just so ya'll know, I love 2 things: comments, and little updates like these. Peace.

Here goes the revamp!

Well, I've decided it's about time I start writing on my blog again. This desire began when at Emily's parents' house on Christmas Eve. Rachel and Mary (Emily's nieces) were talking about blogs and how younger folks were getting into blogging. Then, throughout the past few weeks, I've seen different "signs", if you will, that pointed me to the resurrection of my blog.
I'm going to change the name. The Life...... was a good name for the first attempt, but I've decided I'm going to call it "The Good Life!" to reflect my New Year's Resolutions. I'm excited about this year.
Many good things are happening in "The Good Life!" of Robbie. Probably of most importance is my sweetheart and best friend, Emily. We've now been dating for 5 months and things could not be going any better! I am absolutely in Love with her. I'm pretty sure things are moving towards "permanency"! :)

Anyway, I'm not even sure who has or who will in the future read this blog. I'm fine with that. I'd rather not have my personal life splashed across Facebook. Ha ha... Even if I did splash said personal life across facebook, no one would read it, so it doesn't matter. Anyway, life is good! I'm very blessed and I have an amazing family, a beautiful girlfriend, and I'm still able to walk!

Basketball

Hey, wow it's been a long time since i've blogged and i think it's time to update whoever reads this! Okay.... yeah, it's titled basketball, but it's about a lot more than that! But, basketball is what i said, so basketball is where i'll start! So, as i may have mentioned previously, we started an intramural basketball team! It's been so great to get the exercise and it's been fun to play with a bunch of friends! (and cousins who are just as good as friends) We're currently 0-2, but we have a good excuse, don't worry! haha! no, but we have only had 5 guys come to each basketball game.... it's really too bad, but oh well! I really like the playing time because we play 2-20 minute halves and it's the bomb.com! I love it!
Life is good... I keep telling people that I'm 110% single... and i am, but i wouldn't mind if i found a cute girl to start hanging with... I'm kinda starting to miss the whole dating thing... oh well! I'm not directly looking for it to come, so that means it should be coming shortly, right? :) Anyway, I'll let you all (i talk like there are millions of peeps reading this... i doubt this even gets read...) how our next game goes! I bet we'll win!

Swimming!!!

Today I went swimming! It was so awesome! I woke up at 6:00 and me and my comrade, Jake, went swimming at the Richards Building! It was amazing! I forgot how much I really enjoy swimming! I could only think of two improvements: 1. Goggles... It's hard to swim when you can't see anything or where you're going, and 2. I'm going to change into my suit there... I totally just wore my suit there and afterwards, i was pretty chilly! (to say the least!) That's when heated seats come in handy! Anyway, I didn't want to write for too long, so that's the news! Thanks for everything, friends! And you should come swimming with us...

Low

Have you ever had those low times? I am in the thick of one right now. I'm not sure what brought it on, but I feel extremely inadequate, and kinda lonely. It's not that I don't have good friends, because I do! I have great friends, but they're moving on. They all have their own "interests" and I have none. I had a super awkward moment tonight. I really hope no one that was there reads this. I just felt like everyone had their own "things" going on and I was just standing around doing nothing. That's why I left early. I needed to listen to loud music (which I'm beginning to find is my way of venting) and so I left. I came back and was just so frustrated! The kind of frustration that you can't get rid of. The kind that eats away at you. I can get so frustrated sometimes. Oh well... It doesn't even matter. My awesome roommate just gave me some scriptures that have kinda calmed me down. The one I want to share is in Alma 29:4 where it says that, "God... granteth unto men according to their desire, whether it be unto death or unto life; according to their wills, whether they be unto salvation or unto destruction."
I inherited the ability to over-analyze things from my mom. I'm just thinking about stuff way too much! I gotta do something that makes me forget about what I'm thinking about. The only thing I can think of is hanging out with my parents. I know that sounds very immature and childish, but my parents have a great ability to coach me, to calm me down, and to help me think clearly. That's what I need. Time with them! Anyway, I'm going to bed. I feel better....

Life!!!

And no, I'm not talking about the amazingly awesome tv show, either! I'm talking about my life! It's pretty good right now! I feel free. I've never felt this free since before my mission. I have a really good friend who has helped to coerce me into a daily schedule and it's been pretty good! I actually have finished my homework on time! I'm feeling pretty good about myself because everything is scheduled. Everything has a time. It's very nice! Also, I went running this morning... and despite it being a bit chilly and waking up at 5:55, it wasn't too bad! I also ate a delicious breakfast of yogurt, milk, and a pop-tart. (maybe not the healthiest, but it's still pretty good!) Then, i read the scriptures for 30 minutes (that kinda time just doesn't come easily.... unless it's at 7:00!) Overall, today was a pretty productive day! After my classes, i went to the physics homework lab and finished my homework! woo-hoo! I feel productive! and a bit tired, but that's okay! I want to watch a really good movie today! I kinda want to watch Lost, or The Dark Knight! (okay, lost isn't a movie, but i have it on dvd, so close enough!) We'll see how it goes!
Anyway, let's see......... what's new in my life? I'm single! It feels good to be single! I kinda feel like they just sent the retarded aligator into the pen on chickens. Sure, he could be a threat, but he's more likely to lay a chicken than to eat one! I kinda feel socially awkward sometimes. But, because of my nerdiness and tv-loving-ness, I secretly have been applying principles from The Pick-Up Artist into my life. I'm totally looking for IOI's and trying to give DHV's. It's pretty hard! But, if I only had a wingman, like Greg had on Sunday, then i'd be the ladies man! Or, maybe I could take Tara with me.... no, that's kinda tough! Anyway, I'm kinda feeling like I'm making efforts and those efforts are getting shot down with a semi-automatic AK-47! Oh well, that's not too important, right? It's only my eternal salvation! haha!
Speaking of AK-47, holy crap! Who blocks Shaq twice in a row? Nobody can just do that! I remember the days of the Utah Jazz when they really sucked! Their star player was Andrei Kirilenko and they had no one else! Now, he's the 6th man for the Jazz and he's still making bank! According to EPSN.com or NBA.com or somewhere, he gets paid $14 million dollars! That's insane! He gets paid the amount of money most people in the world can only dream of! Oh well! Anyway, The Jazz are amazing now, I love D-Will, If we lose Boozer, I hope we can find someone better, and Life is good!
I wore shorts today! It felt good! I feel like i look a lot better when i wear shorts... i'm not sure why! Oh well! I'm going to take advantage of all of the shorts-weather i can!
Let's see.... I'm sure there was something else! Oh, here's something: I'm super excited for our intramural basketball team that we're starting! Here is the lineup:
Matt Libutti 6'3" 240 lbs.
McKay Crowley 6'5" 190 lbs.
Drew Burton 6'1" 170 lbs.
Chad Rasmussen 6'0" 170 lbs.
Seth Larsen 6'1" 175 lbs.
Robbie Simons 6'3" 200 lbs.
Paul Howell 6'3" 180 lbs.?

Anyway, i'm super stoked for the games! They're going to be fun! We're also looking for people to join, so if you (and when i say you, i mean no one, because no one really reads this) want to join or you know someone who would like to play BYU Intramural Basketball for the Winter, let me know! We'd love to have you play with us! We already have a cheering committee for our team! Supposedly, they're going to make shirts and maybe they'll even have treats and drinks! woo-hoo! That would be fun!
Anyway, I'm going over to Chad's house to watch either the Notebook or To Kill A Mockingbird! We'll see how it goes! it's a tough pick between 2 pretty good movies! I haven't seen To Kill A Mockingbird recently, so my vote is for that! Anyway, I love you my friends and life is good! I think I'd like to start a Question and Answer part because I'm going to update this more frequently! (that's what I always say!) Anyway, If you have any questions, any at all (about anything) email them to me at robbie.simons2@gmail.com. I'd love to hear feedback from y'all!
